Big news: Peak Quantum to co-operate the first EU pilot line for superconducting quantum chips 🙌 !
We’re proud to announce that Peak Quantum will operate one of the key fabrication sites in SUPREME, the newly approved European pilot line to industrialise superconducting quantum hardware.
Coordinated by VTT and funded under the EU Chips Joint Undertaking , SUPREME brings together 23 partners from 8 EU member states to build scalable, high-yield production infrastructure for next-generation quantum technologies.
Our fabrication site in Garching, Germany, will play a central role in the pilot line, enabled by the powerful local ecosystem of the Munich Quantum Valley and in close collaboration with:
🔹 Technical University of Munich & Walther-Meissner-Institute (WMI)
🔹 Max Planck Halbleiterlabor – HLL
🔹 Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft (EMFT, IZM, IPMS, IAF)
🔹 Infineon Technologies
🔹 Leibnitz IPHT
SUPREME will advance fabrication technologies like angle-evaporated Josephson junctions, 3D integration, and hybrid quantum processes with a focus on high-yield and reliability – with the first validated processes expected to be available for external users in 2027.
This is a decisive step toward building Europe’s industrial base for quantum processors, sensors, and communication components, and a major milestone in our mission to deliver scalable, error-protected QPUs.
